This was one of the hottest and wildest Junes I have ever had, but it kicked off beautifully with Jen and Simon’s LBJ Wildflower Center wedding! This whole wedding weekend was busy, and somewhere in there I even got a staph infection on my leg. (Thanks, nature, sporting a cool scar now.) But the wedding was awesome! First of all, a little lizard came up to try and join the party, so I knew it would be a good day. I worked with some of my favorite vendors, and I watched an artist paint a cake on the spot.
Can we take a moment to talk about the bride’s fantastic color palette? I often think that if someone would plan it for me (because wedding planning is hard) I would like to have a few more so I can get all my dream color palettes out of my head and in some pictures. Well, here’s one of them! These bright pinks, the popping oranges, the soothing green succulents, I love it all! Jen even had her bridesmaids wear different shades and styles of hot pink dresses, and it worked wonderfully. The more muted and relaxing blues and grays of the guys’ outfits were a great compliment to the bright girls’ attire. This is definitely a wedding to take note of, future brides!
Jen and Simon exchanged the sweetest vows, and I would have expected no less after seeing how affectionate and loving they were at their engagement session. The little touches, stolen kisses, and him helping her get all the rocks out of her dress (picture below), magical. Finally, they ran through a cloud of bubbles lined by their family and closest friends. Perfection.
