FAQS
• Why are you a wedding photographer?
Weddings are high energy, high intensity, high emotion, and FUN! I thrive on the fast pace and the happiness of the day. There’s so much more love, more family, and more friends surrounding you than any other day. I suppose the question should be, why wouldn’t anyone want to be a wedding photographer?! It combines my love of photography with my fascination of people and their relationships. There are photographers I follow because I love their art, and there artists I follow because I adore their connections to their subject. I want to connect with you as a couple and help create a beautiful day with you and heartfelt memories for you to hang on the wall so you’ll smile every time you walk by them.
• What portrait sessions do you offer?
I offer Engagement, Bridal, Newlywed, Maternity, Family, and Newborn Sessions. Any reason to photograph your life! Family and newborn sessions start at $275 for 1 hour of photography at your favorite Austin area location, including your home (this does not include digital images). Most of my clients will upgrade to a digital package, though more and more are embracing the album as well. Please inquire for a full portrait price guide with multiple package options and/or travel rates for cities outside of the greater Austin area. Have a fun location idea that’s far away? I’m always up for new ideas and travel, unique locations may receive a bonus, please inquire. Please inquire for commercial and blogging/branding.
• How many years have you been a photographer?
I have been a wedding photographer for over 14 years, and in that time I have documented over 350 weddings. I currently limit the number of weddings I take per year to 20 or less so that I can give each client the attention they deserve.
• How much can I expect to spend on my wedding photography?
Wedding day collections start with 7 hours of wedding day coverage and an engagement session for $4,400. You can also book elopements and hourly coverage without a whole collection. Everything is customizable so we'll go over exactly what you want and don't want then give you a final cost. Please fill out the contact form, including your wedding date. I’ll check my availability and send you the welcome guide with prices within 24 hours. Want to talk now? Please feel free to call me at 512-663-8202, I want to hear from you!
• How do I book my wedding with you?
When you’re ready to make it official with me, you’ll sign an agreement and put down a 50% retainer to book your wedding date. The remaining 50% will be due 3 weeks before your wedding.
• Do you offer albums?
Yes, I do! Albums can be added a la carte, and they’re included in some of my collections. I can send you price guides, or we can grab coffee and talk about your options while you flip through sample albums. Nothing beats feeling the leather and the linen in your hand, feeling the weight of the pages under your fingers and touching the textured images for yourself. I’m a lover of all things photography and paper (my stationery collection is crazy), albums are the combination of this love. A few photos to feast your eyes on:
One last note, even though you didn’t ask, I’m ardent about printing. The feel of an album in your hands, a stack of prints on new paper or my old favorites, nothing beats looking at photos and reliving memories by holding the images in your hands. I own several digital cameras, and I ensure that I take time out as often as I can to order prints and put them up in my house. There are large photos and canvases hanging on the wall, albums full of prints. I own a couple of small (and vintage) film cameras, and I even carry my Instax camera in my purse to events so I can have the instant gratification of a few snapshots when out with friends (and have been known to flip through them like a deck of cards by the end of the night to see if I took more this time than the last time). Print your memories.
