My teachers used to note when I was younger that I “had an ear” for languages. I took to them easily, and I was always interested to learn a new language and a new culture. They called me the chameleon and loved how my accent was fluid, based on who I was around. I’ve used this ability to blend with my surroundings in many different areas of my life. One of them is my photography. When Crystal and David hired me for their wedding we talked about photography (of course, David is an amazing fashion photographer!), and we talked about details, flowers, scenes, ideas. But what we didn’t talk about was editing. Once we were in the moment of the session (and this was last year, y’all – taken in July 2013, but I never blogged it), we decided that a vintage edit would best suit the vibe they wanted. Some fellow photographers said, “but you don’t ‘do’ that…do you?”. The answer is that I hadn’t done it YET. I’m open to doing whatever the shoot calls for, and I think we really hit the nail on the head with this one!
